About Us

Why “Hobart’s Run”? The name “Hobart’s Run” was derived in part from historical accounts of Pottstown’s once-prominent Hobart family who lived during the late 1700s in a stately home overlooking what is now East High Street. Hobart’s Run also is the name of an underground stream that runs through the area east of Pottstown’s downtown.  The Hobarts purchased their home’s property from David Potts, the grandson of Pottstown founder John Potts.  Thus, the name ties our endeavor to both our geographic focus area and to the rest of Pottstown and its history.
