Open Hearth is really about one thing: changing lives for the better, through our effective programs, services and partnerships. Our Mission Statement includes our organization's commitment to strengthening the fabric of our community through support of and participation in community building efforts that pertain to advocacy, housing, quality of life, stability, and empowerment.

Our accomplishments have ranged from serving families who are experiencing homelessness to those who we've helped to reach their goal of home ownership. In 2017, we assisted over 600 families and individuals - twice as many as the previous year. We served 75 households in our Permanent Housing Program and helped 11 families avoid eviction through our Goal Achievement Program. 341 families/individuals received personalized financial counseling and goal planning. Eleven participants in our Family Savings Plan reached their savings goals. Additionally, 191 individuals connected with our navigator resulting in 48 people confirming they obtained full or part-time work.

Open Hearth also created and administers the Phoenixville Area Resource Network (PARN), a monthly drop-in meeting attended by local social service agencies and interested community members. Presentations are provided on topics relevant to the nonprofit sector, while also serving as a community forum to share agency news and updates.

Our organization has been involved in and a champion of Decade to Doorways since its inception in 2012. Most notably, Open Hearth's Executive Director Kelly Raggazino was appointed the chair of the Decade to Doorways Governance Board in 2018.

Finally, in a joint effort with the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, our organization publishes the popular Help Book which is a health and human services guide commonly used as an area-wide resource for agencies, organizations and community members.

Open Hearth has been a consistent and reliable problem solver and remains committed to prepare our participants at every stage of their journey.
The target population that Open Hearth serves truly values the level of care and commitment they receive from our organization and find the services we offer essential for making the journey to stability possible. Those served include at-risk populations, low-income households, people with disabilities, single parents, the elderly, and individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

"Praise the LORD for a place like this!!! Open Hearth Inc. is as good as it gets. A Non Profit Organization that simply does what it says it will do! Since my household is unique, I was turned away by other organizations that claimed they would help." - former program participant
