Testimonials
Normally we deliver all the backpacks to each school building for the students and then a staff person at the school distributes to the students personally.
When schools closed because of Covid-19 we had to find another way to get the needed food to the students in our program. So we delivered to the students where ever they were at. We delivered to families living in parking lots, students who were homeless living in abandon shops, to moms who were working at their jobs and couldn’t be home to receive the meals and were scared someone else would take it.
For the 2021/2022 school year we are starting off like we ended, in contact with the students in our program and delivering to them where ever they are at. We are thankful we are able to serve those in our program. We are thankful for those who partner with us volunteering in the many ways needed.
Program Name
Operation143 serves alongside individuals and organizations to collect food, materials and financial support. Volunteers pack the food items into backpacks every Wednesday evening. Volunteers then deliver the backpacks on Thursdays and Fridays to each school. Students then discretely pick up the backpacks Friday and return them to the schools on Monday where volunteers will then pick them up Tuesday. The process begins again for the next week. The Backpacks contain enough food for Dinner Friday night, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday a long with some snacks and water.
