Testimonials

Normally we deliver all the backpacks to each school building for the students and then a staff person at the school distributes to the students personally. When schools closed because of Covid-19 we had to find another way to get the needed food to the students in our program.

We saw first hand how a community comes together to get things done. Teachers, staff from the schools, churches, our ongoing volunteers and the staff here at Operation143 put their hearts into making sure we served those in need. We organized; called all the students in our program, set up delivery times and days, found the food supply we needed, and packed over 900 bags a week with a very small group of volunteers. It was a beautiful expression of Love and care.

We delivered to families living in parking lots, students who were homeless living in abandon shops, to moms who were working at their jobs and couldn’t be home to receive the meals and were scared someone else would take it.

For the 2020/2021 school year we are starting off like we ended, in contact with the students in our program and delivering to them where ever they are at. We are thankful we are able to serve those in our program. We are thankful for those who partner with us volunteering in the many ways needed and we are thankful to all those who have financially donated to us and those who used our Amazon Wish list to send us the food items we needed. We would not have been able to accomplish what we did last year and this year if it wasn’t for the community.
