More About Us
Project Purpose works with low-income students and families in Pottstown, PA. Our ministry began in 2011. We are a Christian, faith-based nonprofit. We work with some of the most at-risk students in our community.
Our largest program is our After-School Homework. Low-income, at-risk kindergarten through 12th grade students work one-on-one with a volunteer who helps each student with his or her homework. As volunteers work with students they are building relationships that offer hope and joy in learning. Our staff and volunteers also work to support parents as they engage in their children’s education. We believe that parents benefit through a support system that comes alongside them as they navigate their children’s schooling.
Other programs our non-profit offers include a community garden, a theater club, and a STEAM club. The theater and STEAM clubs provide the students the opportunity to participate in hands-on, interactive learning while having fun. In the spring and summer, the Project Garden provide the students the opportunity to learn how to prepare the ground, plant, grow, and harvest vegetables. As well as how to care of our environment. The students find joy in working in their garden and watching their produce grow. They also enjoy being able to share the produce with their families!
Our Programs Feature:
- After School Homework Help
- Project Garden
- A STEAM Club
- A Theater Club
- Mentoring Events
Every program of Project Purpose is based on our mission that relationships change lives. We believe that the relationships our students have with our staff and volunteers bring them love, joy, hope!
Testimonials
A Project Purpose parent:
“I wanted to thank everyone again for Nadia’s opportunity to go to Camp. Can I just tell you she LOVED it and didn’t get homesick- not once. She said she was having too much fun with her new friends to even think about home. She’s never been away from us that long, but she just can’t stop talking about all of the wonderful things she did and learned. All of the staff there were WONDERFUL and full of joy. Nadia will never forget this experience. She got 11 awards and I could go on and on. We are forever grateful for every activity, big or small, Project Purpose has invited Nadia to be a part of. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
